Gaysi Family was started as a blog to provide a voice and a safe space to desis (people from the South Asian Subcontinent) that identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender or Queer. What began as a simple idea of sharing stories about what it meant to be gay and Desi (thus, Gaysi!) has evolved into space with a roster of authors worldwide, diverse content and traffic from countries all over.

Gaysi mumbaiGaysi has been regularly featured in several mainstream media publications such as Time Out (Mumbai & New Delhi edition), The Hindu, Asian Age, HT Delhi, Mumbai Mirror, DNA etc. Gaysi has made international news on Boing Boing, Huffington Post, Gay Star News and Diva Magazine; and popular online media platforms such as Scroll, Buzzfeed, Scoopwoop, and Storypick.

 What do they do?

Gaysi Family Blog is an online forum and website for Gaysis with something to say, whether it’s personal opinions, coming out stories, poems, erotic fiction, book reviews, movie reviews, event notices or anything at all that is related to being Gaysi or Queer.

Since 2011 they have created offline spaces to screen queer films, hold book reading evenings, open mic event, called Dirty Talk, with known artists, celebrities and people from the queer community; and self-publish a queer magazine, called The Gaysi Zine.
