Queer Campus Hyderabad -Anniversary Celebrations -10th Sept -LGBT Events India

Queer Campus Hyderabad started as a support group for LGBT community in July 2013. It’s an agglomeration of queer community and allies in Hyderabad. This group was started and is run by queer folks in Hyderabad. The main aim remains to create a safe space for Queer folks to come out and talk, express and be themselves. The basic problems such as bullying, coming out, acceptance, awareness, career guidance etc are taken up by them. They conduct meetings every weekend on a specific pre-decided agenda though there is no compulsion to stick only to the topic. QCH is more of a support group that works as a hand to hold you up, a hug to keep you warm, a shoulder to cry on, and a smile to make your day.

Queer campus HyderabadTheir first meet was attended by 7 people and from then there was no looking back. The queer campus has tried its best to be able to form a platform for LGBTIAQ folks in Hyderabad helping them at various stages from coming out to, bullying, assault, blackmail cases etc. Their main motive is to reach out to society and bring awareness to the community.

Good news is they are celebrating their fourth anniversary. The celebrations will give you a chance to see local queer and queer-friendly artists displaying their pictures and paintings, with some interesting movies being screened. In the evening, join us for Hyderabad’s Second Flash Mob by Team Mobbera followed by cultural activities.

Films are an integral part of the community. They touch the queer lives in many ways be it coming out stories, a cute romantic flick or a comedy film that will make your stomach ache.
