Gaysi Family was started as a blog to provide a voice and a safe space to desis (people from the South Asian Subcontinent) that identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender or Queer. What began as a simple idea of sharing stories about what it meant to be gay and Desi (thus, Gaysi!) has evolved into space with a roster of authors worldwide, diverse content and traffic from countries all over.
‘I like how spring makes me feel. It makes me feel happy because there’s so much colour and light winds, and so much contrast everywhere. People are wearing nice clothes, drinking nice things and just letting all their worries float. Oh, and I like all the flowers too.’- An anonymous person in the office.
Spring is a state of mind (in Mumbai) and in our attempt to drown ourselves in colour and happiness we planned out a great night for us AND YOU on the 15th of April. YAS. The party night is back, and it’s going (many) levels higher.
For the cosiest, most bright night in April, we have for you a very, very special performance brought to you by Deepika Arwind and The Sandbox Collective.
“No Rest in the Kingdom”, a devised, physical theatre performance, came out of the need to have a conversation about the daily misogynies we are implicit in perpetrating. A comedy with music and movement, in which the performer plays four characters – two male, one female, and one feline, “No Rest In The Kingdom” draws from the lives of urban characters who speak similar languages of consumerism and technology. Young and old men and women who are themselves baffled at this ‘gender question’ often find themselves walking on thin ice, oblivious, and sometimes very aware of the dangerous biases they hold. The laughter often received is both ludicrous and uncomfortable — oftentimes knowing — that the outrageous world of inequities we inhabit is very much within us.
“No Rest in the Kingdom” is written, directed & performed by Deepika Arwind.
The 2x2 Bar Night this time is scheduled on a Sunday and promises to be an open, warm and safe space for anyone and everyone to join in. If you’re looking to meet more people, create conversations, cry about love and get carried away in the beauty of the night – THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE!

About HIM: He’s chubby, he’s funny and he’s gay.And now he’s coming out with his own one-hour stand-up comedy show.
Mainly because people told him it’s high time and after three years of performing, people still remember him for showing up that one time on Queens of Comedy or Son of Abish.
There are a lot of things Navin has to say and since he cannot fit an audience inside that comfy closet, he is stepping out to stir s*** up. Come join him on this anxiety-fueled self-affirming trip. post which DJ Prithvi Live on the CONSOLE!!
