Harmless Hugs is a Delhi based support group which started as an initiative to support and empower feminist groups and members of the LGBTQA community.
Harmless Hugs is a dynamic platform bringing together liberal souls all around the world and help one another in the process of finding and embracing their true self. Founded on 10-September-2012, it is an expansive space driven by core values of unity in diversity and coexistence.Raising over tags, their vision is to create a collaborative culture that focuses on free and fair human expression.Harmless Hugs is driven by both on line as well as ground based initiatives for the feminist groups and LGBTQA communities and allies.
The idea was born to spread happiness amongst people and they went all out to achieve it. What happens when a bunch of young people spread out asking for free hugs? And what happens, when this bunch of young people are queer? Members of Harmless Hugs headed out at the busiest place in New Delhi – Connaught Place on Sunday evening while holding placards like: “I am Queer. Will you Hug me?”
And from there it was never looking back. Let’s take a look at their awesome journey in these five years so far.
Harmless Hugs is turning 5 this September! And they are all excited and looking forward to an amazing year ahead full of surprises and joy. And what do they plan to do? Celebrate the journey of all these years. They would like to invite everyone who has been a part of the journey filled with ups and downs, challenges and fun filled meetups to wish, sing along, celebrate and enjoy all the memories and also look forward to the future endeavors.
Whats the party like? Potluck, Games, and an evening full of surprises.

Gaysi Family was started as a blog to provide a voice and a safe space to desis (people from the South Asian Subcontinent) that identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender or Queer. What began as a simple idea of sharing stories about what it meant to be gay and Desi (thus, Gaysi!) has evolved into space with a roster of authors worldwide, diverse content and traffic from countries all over.
Gaysi has been regularly featured in several mainstream media publications such as Time Out (Mumbai & New Delhi edition), The Hindu, Asian Age, HT Delhi, Mumbai Mirror, DNA etc. Gaysi has made international news on Boing Boing, Huffington Post, Gay Star News and Diva Magazine; and popular online media platforms such as Scroll, Buzzfeed, Scoopwoop, and Storypick.
What do they do?
Gay Family Blog is an online forum and website for Gaysis with something to say, whether it’s personal opinions, coming out stories, poems, erotic fiction, book reviews, movie reviews, event notices or anything at all that is related to being Gaysi or Queer.
Since 2011 we have also managed to create offline spaces to screen queer films, hold book reading evenings, open mic event, called Dirty Talk, with known artists, celebrities and people from the queer community; and self-publish a queer magazine, called The Gaysi Zine.
Gaysi now brings to you a first of its kind 2X2 By The Beach party. No matter what time of the year, there’s nothing better than spending a Saturday by the beach. With a live DJ on the beach, you can listen to your favorite music while enjoying some spectacular cocktails, and enjoyable conversations. If yes, this 2X2 By The Beach Party is for you and you should not miss it for the world.
There’d be live DJ, Karaoke, fun group activities, ice-cold beers and cocktails, oversized bean bags and an uninterrupted view of the changing blue-to-yellow-to-pink-to-red sky. Now isn’t this just a perfect spot to share some queer love and relax?
